Cultivating Human Potential is an independent publication exploring human potential, different ways of thinking, and the questions we don't ask often enough.

It begins with a simple premise: some of the assumptions we treat as fixed may deserve another look.

The essays here explore ideas across technology, education, inequality, human behaviour, creativity, intelligence and the future. Some will begin with observations from everyday life. Others will step much further back and ask what becomes visible when we look at a problem from a different angle.

The aim is not to provide definitive answers.

It is to ask better questions.

Rowan Field is a pen name.

I have chosen to publish these essays without initially attaching my personal identity, professional background or qualifications to them. That is deliberate.

We often decide how much weight to give an idea partly by looking at the person behind it — their education, occupation, status, age, experience or credentials.

I want to try something different.

For now, I would rather the ideas encounter the reader first.

You are welcome to agree with them, challenge them, question them or take them somewhere I haven't considered.

That is part of the point.
